MeineProvence / PlanMyProvence deliberately works without a user account, without a newsletter and without advertising tracking. Specifically, we process:

• Technical server logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) via our hosting provider
• A technically necessary session cookie to retrieve your created itinerary during your visit
• The inputs you make in the trip planner (starting location(s), trip length, interests) and the resulting itinerary
• Whether a booking link (e.g. to Booking.com) was clicked, for statistical purposes

This website is hosted with Hostinger. Information is automatically collected in so-called server log files transmitted by your browser (e.g. IP address, date and time of the request, browser used). This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website).

When you create an itinerary, we set a cookie (planner_session) so we can match your plan to you during your visit and, for example, let you view it again later. This cookie contains no real name or other directly identifying data, is purely technically necessary, and is therefore not subject to consent requirements under § 25 TTDSG (German Telecommunications and Telemedia Data Protection Act). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The details you enter in the form (location(s), trip length, interests, mode of arrival) and the resulting itinerary are stored in our database so we can display the plan to you and make it accessible via a link through the "Share plan" feature. No registration or provision of your name is required for this. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the service you requested) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the trip-planning service).

The suggested places in your itinerary may show buttons linking to external platforms (e.g. Booking.com, Tripadvisor, GetYourGuide), as well as links to map applications (Google Maps), ride services (Uber) and bus schedules (TRACE). Clicking such a link takes you away from our site, and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies, over which we have no influence. We only store that (not who specifically) a link was clicked and when, for statistical purposes for our partner businesses.

For local businesses who manage their own listing, we offer a login area (email address, password). Passwords are stored only in hashed form, never in plain text. Login status is stored via a technically necessary cookie (provider_session) for 30 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contractual relationship with the business).

We use OpenStreetMap map tiles to display maps. When a map is loaded, a request is sent to OpenStreetMap's servers, which technically transmits your IP address. More information: OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.

You have the right at any time to:
